Day 1: Arrival & Western Sattras

Important Note for July Travel:

July in Majuli is peak monsoon. Expect heavy rainfall, high humidity, and potential for waterlogging. Ferry services can be irregular or suspended due to high river levels. Always check schedules and conditions in advance. Carry waterproof essentials and be prepared for muddy roads.

Travel to Nimati Ghat & Ferry to Majuli
Arrive at Jorhat Airport (JRH) or Jorhat Railway Station. Take a taxi/auto to Nimati Ghat, then board a ferry to Majuli Island. Upon arrival, transfer to your guesthouse/homestay.

Travel: Taxi/Auto to Nimati Ghat (approx. ₹300-₹500 from Jorhat Airport/Station). Ferry (₹20-₹50 per person, ₹100-₹200 for two-wheeler, ₹800-₹1000 for car).

Time: 30-45 min (Jorhat to Nimati), 1.5-2 hours (Ferry to Majuli)

Auniati Satra
Visit Auniati Satra, one of the prominent Sattras (monasteries) of Majuli, known for its rich collection of traditional Assamese artifacts and the 'Paalnaam' festival.

Travel: Rented bicycle/scooter or auto (Majuli is best explored on two-wheelers)

Continue to Dakhinpat Satra, another significant Vaishnavite monastery, known for its traditional dance forms and the preservation of ancient Assamese culture.
