Day 1: Journey to the Land of Dawn-Lit Mountains
Arrival in Guwahati/Tezpur & Travel to Dirang
Arrive at Guwahati (Gauhati) Airport (GAU) or Tezpur Airport (TEZ). From there, embark on a scenic road journey towards Dirang. This is a long drive, so an early start is recommended. You will cross the Inner Line Permit (ILP) check post at Bhalukpong. Ensure you have your ILP/PAP ready.
**Monsoon in Tawang (July):** Expect heavy rainfall, fog, and potential for landslides. Roads might be challenging, and some high-altitude areas might be inaccessible. Carry waterproof gear and check local road conditions daily.
Travel: Taxi/Shared Cab (approx. ₹4000-₹7000 from Guwahati to Dirang)
Upon arrival in Dirang, if you have sufficient daylight and energy, visit the Dirang Monastery for its peaceful ambiance and views. The Dirang Hot Springs are also nearby, but access might be muddy during monsoon.
